Short Film: Valencia

Logline: A fraudulent influencer must confront the facade she’s created when she receives a bomb and set of instructions while live-streaming herself opening fanmail.

Synopsis: Aaliyah Scott is a 23-year-old influencer with over 700k followers on Instagram. One day, while going through fanmail on a live-stream, she opens a package containing a bomb and a set of instructions. Aaliyah has 15 minutes to come clean and reveal all the tricks behind her #blackgirlmagic, or the bomb will detonate. Will Aaliyah ruin her reputation and destroy all she’s built? Time is ticking and the world is watching.

Valencia is a short but poignant thriller. It makes age-old observations about race but remains modern by exploring the trials of an influencer. Valencia is currently in the market for production, preferably for the film festival circuit. There is also feature-length potential for the film.
